Can a Bot Write a Blog? I Tested an AI Content Marketing Tool to Find Out

I've heard artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing can do some amazing things including stock trading, legal research, win Jeopardy, generating personalized content on landing pages, power Facebook Messenger chatbots for customer support, and many more (here's 59 awesome things AI technology can do!)

But could it really handle content marketing or social media content creation?! In real-time (or at least in under 1 minute)?!!

When I read about Articoolo I had to give it a test run. And at just a few bucks per article I figured it was worth a shot if it could save hours of work. To be honest, my expectations were pretty low but I thought if it could get the blog even 60-70% done that would be well worth the pocket change.

If the tool could give content marketers a lump of clay to mold into unique and relevant content then that would be a game-changer.  Even though the writer would still need to come up with content strategy, implement SEO, adjust readability for the target audience and proof-reed for quality content.

With great anticipation, I put in my first test phrase into the Articool AI tool.  For some fun irony, I input "A.I. content marketing" but the Artificial Intelligence powers-that-be rejected this query and suggested I try "content marketing" instead.  Well who was I to argue with AI technology?!

With bated breathe I waited for the loading bar to create my automatically generated masterpiece.  Then like a jello mold falling off the counter, the article plopped onto my screen in a glorious, jumbled mess.

Content Marketing
You have likely heard the term that content is king and it is true. Providing content that's relevant to you or your company will increase your web site ranking, audience and eventually, bottom line. It is sounds fancy too, content advertising, but it is not as fancy as you'd think. You don't need to compose lengthy whitepapers or event studies and don't need to be an experienced journalist either. All that you need is a notion, some time to compose and the subsequent fast hit tactics to assist you receive a content marketing campaign off the floor. - Issue a news release announcing the launch of one's business or new website.

You can issue a paid press launch for approximately $150 and can leverage several on-line PR distribution programs to issue it. These programs will then categorize your news release and will automatically inform the key publishers, media experts and local journalists on your esteemed industry and geographical area as a way to bring attention to your release. As far as utilizing a free news release, we say go for it. It's not always the best with regards to bring media coverage nevertheless it may still help you get the message from lower grade media outlets, blogs and sites. Our advice is if you have taken the time to compose an excellent news release then it certainly cannot hurt to disperse as many places as possible.

Therefore, give all your choices a shot and dependant upon your spending budget, select the one which works well for you. - A how-to article, an interview in the neighborhood news business or a guest post on another neighborhood blog might help you get seen by search engines and improve your site ranking. Particularly for new web sites, which frequently take a couple of days and even weeks before they're indexed - by getting published on someones else's website, you will gain the benefit of the spiders that crawl their web site and notice your connection and take it back to your site.- Similar to getting published, but a bit less work, article promotion is a good way to distribute content on-line and Get link and qualified traffic back to your site.

There are dozens of article directory sites on-line which will enable you to create a free account own and after that submit articles for consideration. Once you've been accepted as a publisher, you'll make an author bio that will include a fast description of you, your company or product\/service and will also be allowed to include a link back to your website. These articles typically rank rather well on their very own simply because these article directory sites are often spiders by search engines. As a consequence of the article ranking high, you will advantage by picking off the internet search engine traffic that clicks to read your own post and after that finally follows through to click your website.

488 words of vaguely "content marketing" related phrases all slammed together with the artistry of summer camp finger painting.

At least for now, I think copy writers and content marketers jobs are still safe but it was never the less a noble (but humbling) effort from the AI system.  There isn't much here that can be salvaged to turn into something any human would want to read.  So the jump start with the building blocks of this article didn't really come together in my opinion, but it will be interesting to see to search engines likes this text block more than English Literature teachers would.
